My first internship for Teacher Education will be at Stanley Elementary School. I will be there Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons, beginning tomorrow and ending February 22nd. I will be working with the SPED team at Stanley, working in a variety of classrooms daily.

I am very excited to learn from the SPED teachers this internship. When I was working with Mrs. Wells at Wolf Springs Elementary School, I enjoyed learning about Elementary Interrelated Resource. I was in touch on Sunday with my mentor teacher at Stanley, Ms. Skouse, and she is organizing a schedule for me so that I will be able to experience a variety of SPED settings. I am looking forward to connecting with students and learning about their likes, dislikes, and passions.

During this internship, I would like to learn how to compose an Individualized Education Plan and keep logs for students. If given the opportunity to, I would love to teach a lesson to students. Since I went to Stanley in Elementary School, it will be a great experience to go back and learn from educators there about teaching. I am looking forward to beginning at Stanley tomorrow and meeting the teachers and students.
