There was a para absent at Harmony today, so I was able to be a substitute for her. I worked with a sweet kindergartner girl with profound autism. We went to gym and art class, and then had writing class. The Occupational Therapist she works with pushed in to writing class to work with her. I learned that this student loves art class and thrives best in that special. She loves colors and talking to me about them using her communication device. I also learned that this student does not enjoy writing, and I think this is because fine motor is difficult for her. It will be great to see the progress this student makes with writing and doing more work her general education classroom.
