On Mondays I will be continuing duty assignments at Stanley Elementary with the Reading Intervention Program. This Monday, we assisted Ms. Healy in instructing a word scramble lesson for a fourth grade class. In this activity, we gave each student a strip of letters to cut out. Once the letters were cut, Ms. Healy gave them words to spell and instructed them to take out a certain amount of letters and replace them to make a new word Ms. Healy gave them. We did other activities with the word scramble such as word grouping with rhyming and word families. This semester, we will be doing this activity one-on-one or in small groups with students to help improve their ability to sound out new words.
