Today was my first day at Stanley Elementary! It was a busy day, but very exciting. The Interrelated Resource team is comprised of 4 teachers: Ms. Skouse (K-1st), Ms. Scarpone (2nd-3rd), Ms. Hurt (4th-5th), and Ms. Leighton (5th). During my time at Stanley I will be rotating on a schedule between the 4 teacher, and observing classes in reading, math, and social skills.
There was a wax museum today for the 1st graders, so I traveled around with Ms. Skouse and met her students. It was so wonderful to meet all of them and see their projects. With Ms. Hurt, I worked one-on-one with students to develop their narratives. I also helped a student with the book study she is in the process of. Ms. Hurt was doing an assessment with a student, and Ms. Leighton's class was analyzing opinions on a topic from an article.
It will be great to continue working with the Stanley SPED team and learn from them. The teachers all seem very excited to have me this next month and want to have me involved in their classrooms.
